The Palm Springs shoot of my dreams. Even having just met Alex + Addison that day—as they were modeling for a styled shoot put on by Andie Avery Photography which I was thrilled to be a part of—I instantly fell in love with their very un-styled, love. Through the better part of a decade, marriage, moves, and manifesting their dreams—these two you’d have thought were newly together. As they sat through hours of several amazing photographers taking their photo probably completely chapping their lips–their smiles never subsided. A styled shoot has the intention of helping showcase different vendors, creating content, and exploring creativity in such an exciting way. In years prior the very thought of a styled shoot contradicted everything I wanted to convey in my work. Authenticity. But here is the thing. That is poor thinking. That is small thinking. What I forgot is that chemistry is so authentic. So real. So absolutely tangible to see, feel, and capture. That often times these types of shoots are comprised of real life couples. What beautiful and unique experience to be able to dress up, makeout with your hunny, & coexist amidst creatives. Addison + Alex I have come to follow on social platforms beyond this day + have truly been inspired by the way they love each other. The way they serve each other. The way they choose to create a community of conversation and growth among couples. Being fairly new to marriage, it is consistently a season of growth. Finding people like Addison + Alex by circumstance + eventually choosing to maintain that connection is something inexplicable about the choices we make in this lifetime. This session for me was beyond the beauty of what you see below. This session allowed growth and seeking to be open to change. There is so much power in our innate ability of choice + man, is it beautiful to experience.
